Pre-Primary

Students who live in an atmosphere of love and warmth, and who have around them truly good examples to imitate are living in their proper element.

As your little one takes their first exploratory steps into the world, we offer them an extension of home and family – a sanctuary that is safe, joyful and nurturing. We lay the foundations of what will be a lifelong love for learning with free play, meaningful work and deep friendships.

The early years (Pre-primary School) at Tridha prepare children for the formal learning that begins in Primary School - but with a Waldorf essence. Our warm and loving environment nurtures the magic of childhood. Our focus on play supports your child's curiosity, well-being and connection with the world around them.

Not too early, not too late - we introduce the right activities and subjects to your child at the right time. We nourish their sense of wonder about the world, making school a joyous experience of discovery and learning.

We have 1 playgroup serving students between 2 years to 3 years of age and eight mixed age kindergartens serving students between the ages of 3 to 6 years.

Magic. Wonder. Learning.

We value the right to childhood. We honour children’s sense of wonder. And we believe that they learn best by imitation.

Free imaginative play, cooperative activities, storytelling and creative arts are central to the Pre-primary Years at Tridha.

Within the classroom and beyond, your child will cook, sew, garden, draw, paint, play and learn practical life skills. They will connect with their peers and the natural environment. Activities that gently set the stage for higher learning in the areas of language development, dexterity, mathematics, social skills and creative thinking.

Rhythm of the day

Each day in Pre-primary features a morning circle, creative play and storytelling. These activities allow children to savour the sounds of language. They learn to share through social games and develop coordination and balance. The rituals and routines set in motion in the Kindergarten years continue through their school lives, giving structure to their explorations.

The rhythmic repetition of activities daily, weekly and seasonally instills in them a sense of grounding and balance. These rhythms set them up to be effective individuals even long after they graduate.

Collaborative assessments

We deeply value the teacher-student relationship at Tridha. Teachers are figures of authority who embody trust and kindness. They also take a keen interest in the overall development of each student. Pre-primary teachers take special care to observe children’s interest level, skills, work ethic, learning style and social interaction.

Using an anthroposophical view of the child, kindergarten teachers collaboratively assess students and share their observations with the child’s parents and the rising Grade 1 teacher.
