Understanding Life’s Paradoxes While Staying True to Ideals

It was in 2010, that Tridha introduced its A Level Program for its first batch of IGCSE students. The odyssey of moving towards this program was an outcome of a mutual understanding and realisation between the school, parents and students - of the merit of continuing to study in Tridha , bringing to a culmination a complete school program. The erstwhile batches believed that a continuity and furtherance in quality instruction, pedagogical approach and a diverse, enriching learning environment would be most conducive towards the progression of their student lives. This phase would draw to an end at the age of 18 years or with the A Level qualification.

During the combined two years of the Advanced Subsidiary Level (Grade 11) and Advanced Level (Grade 12) , the students are absorbed in a challenging program which immerses them in diverse fields of knowledge, skill development and experiences. The choice of attire in which they attend school in Tridha, is perhaps the first sense of being a young adult and of exploring expression .

This experience and expression goes onto being multi layered, dynamic and evolving. Subjects are chosen for interest, aptitude and the future ; internships are taken up in various sectors with an aim to taste professional expectations and self productivity ; aesthetic, cultural learning is curriculum ! The program is a quest both theoretically and literally - the answers given are now based on application, individual perspective and lateral thinking.

The program is a cohesive, collaborative one between teachers and students and between students themselves. Facilitation is provided constantly which fortifies the bonds cultivated during these two years.

The Drama block, the Europe trip, the study of Architecture, the Sculpting block, the presentations, career counselling sessions - each one of them is woven into this unique 2 year program and builds up to  a puissant chronicle.

Each pursuit is singular with the intent to make it experiential and create a trajectory of growth and accomplishment. Tridha, unlike all other programs offers an opportunity to each student of honing skill sets which encompass a wide variety of competencies. While learning is in keeping with certain set standards and evaluation, it continues to be individual centred and allows each student to create an original mark, developing a sense of ownership towards their final qualification and learning during these two years.

Unlike other educational systems, Tridha’s A Level experience does not narrow down a student’s learning path but instead expands it. Academic rigor and self-exploration go hand in hand, ensuring that students are well-equipped to navigate life’s challenges while remaining true to their unique aspirations.

Graduating from Tridha’s A Level Program means more than just academic excellence. Our students develop clarity of purpose and a deep sense of social responsibility. They gain the skills necessary to thrive at top global universities and in professional environments while maintaining a commitment to social and environmental well-being.

Why Tridha Chose A Level

Students at Tridha take their IGCSE Level examinations before progressing to the A Level. The decision to offer A Levels is rooted in its broad recognition and flexibility. The A Level qualification is acknowledged by both Indian and international universities, making it an excellent choice for students planning diverse academic and career paths.

We welcome students from other boards and schools to experience Tridha’s unique Waldorf hued A Level program.

Over the years, Tridha students have secured admissions to prestigious colleges in India and abroad, excelling in fields such as medicine, law, science, engineering, computer technology, arts, social sciences, government, and teaching, among others.

Corporate and community service work experience

Beyond their classroom curriculum, this year is marked by important practical experiences such as,  working in the corporate and social sector for a minimum of 3 weeks. The students learn how to make a CV and pitch themselves for acceptance in the professional world. External evaluation of their capability and communication  leads to self-realisation and self-assessment.

Presentations by the students post these experiences reveal layers of transformation and often a shift in perception of their own interests and abilities.

Stone Sculpting

Our AS level students experience a stone sculpting block – They learn the art of sculpting, chiselling, and polishing soft stone.

As part of the Steiner education philosophy, we encourage the exploration of life in all its forms, and stone sculpting is a perfect opportunity to experience that. Sculpting offers a chance to feel the natural texture of stone, a grounding experience amidst the virtual overstimulation that often disconnects them from the real world. As they engage with the carving process, they discover that the sounds, sensations, and physical effort create a deeply immersive sensory , symbolic experience.

Exchange Program

A Tridha education begins in the classroom but takes students all over the world. We actively pursue international exchange programs with other Waldorf schools. Students spend two weeks immersed in a new culture and diverse perspectives, an experience which greatly enriches their educational journey. They may also host Waldorf students from other countries in their home. On the whole, the experience is a life-changing opportunity for our students to develop an intercultural understanding, skills in communication and an appreciation for the diversity in our world.

A week in Paris

After a two-week exchange program, students typically spend a week in Paris as part of their History of Architecture block. Together as a class, our A Level students immerse themselves in Europe’s artistic and architectural heritage which connects them to a rich history and the development of expression. It gives them an experiential understanding of art and architecture that sets them apart in their academic and creative pursuits.

Advanced Level (A Level - Grade 12) - The Power of Synthesis

A Level is the culmination of all the experience the students have gained in our Waldorf School. At this point in the students’ development, they are able to grasp large conceptual ideas. In many ways, we give the students an opportunity to engage in many activities and subjects which enables them to comprehend how disparate parts make up the whole. For example, in English, they analyse how a piece of writing is incumbent on the writer’s socio- political, cultural-historical context. The impulse to contextualise understanding is  reiterated strongly. What lies beyond the apparent, what is a plausible prediction and how an expressed opinion must be based on studied deliberation is emphasised.

Drama Block

"The stage is not merely the meeting place of all the arts, but is also the return of art to life."

— Oscar Wilde

The A Level students immerse themselves deeply in the Drama Block, an integral part of their curriculum. This experience sets in motion a journey of self-discovery, enabling them to develop empathy by stepping into another’s shoes, exploring the life and ethos of places far removed from their own, and most importantly, undergoing a personal transformation.

As a final showcase for our outgoing batch of talented performers, the Drama Block culminates in a stage production, offering students the opportunity to bring their learning and creativity to life.

Speaker Sessions

Our students have the opportunity to engage with eminent professionals from diverse fields, including finance, media, architecture, medicine, marketing, entrepreneurship, engineering, and more. These speakers share insights into their professional journeys, offering students a firsthand perspective on their experiences, challenges, and achievements. By listening to these narratives, students gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of various industries, preparing them for the realities of the working world.
